Crikey, what a day and an hour it has been for some people.
Mark Watson, the comedian, took on the incredible task of a 25 hour Comedy Marathon for Comic Relief/Red Nose Day’s 25th Anniversary year. He was on stage for the vast majority of 25 hours – leaving only to pee about 3 or 4 times.
I started watching at about 12 last night, fell asleep at about half 6, then carried on watching when I awoke at 3. It finished at midnight on the 2nd March, which is when I watched up to (the live streaming ended). I would have attempted the whole thing, but I’ve been a bit ill recently, so it wouldn’t have been a great idea.
I remember 2 years ago, when David Walliams did his 24 Hour Panel People, I stayed up for all of that, except I missed the first few hours because I wasn’t yet out of bed as it started.
I am blown away by the sheer will power of people. It’s an incredible thing to witness, especially when someone is so tired that they’re almost broken and just going a little bit mental. I have already decided that the next time someone does a lengthy show with an audience, if I like the person, then I will absolutely try and go.
Amazing work my Mark Watson, I’m pretty sure he only spent 20 minutes of the whole time not talking, and maybe an hour less than 25 hours standing up – which is, frankly, ridiculous.
